The real problem
Winning the call is the easy half.
The panic call is competitive but it is straightforward: answer fast, sound calm, get out there. Most companies are decent at it and the ones that are not usually just did not pick up.
The hard half is everything after. A pest control company is a recurring-revenue business where the product, when it is working, is indistinguishable from nothing happening. Customers do not experience value — they experience an absence — and absences are very easy to stop paying for.
So accounts leak away quietly. No complaint, no cancellation call, no argument. Just a declined visit, then a reschedule that never happens, then a name on a list nobody worked.
